After 10 miles of smooth running, the engine starts to crap out. I let it cool off... Runs another 10 miles same thing. I've checked the charging system. It's good. Any advice?

1975 FLH, 20w50, no oil leaks anywhere (that I can see), 90 degrees outside...

not enough info for an answer - points - electronic ignition - OH yea i had the gas tank just painted - the coil is original and it has 100,000 miles - kind of thing

 

And....Is the gas tank vented properly?
what was done to the bike since it ran properly?
My crystal ball is foggy like John's!

 

Sorry guys... points ignition. Gas tank is vented and flowing properly. But... I'm pretty sure I found the problem. Ignition coil reading at less than 1 ohm. Surprised it was running at all.

 

that'll do it! glad you found it easily. you probably know this but you need a 5 ohm one for points

 

I'll be putting on a 5ohm coil tonight... Hopefully that solves it.
