Default Breather Routing

Hey, have 82 FXR, bought this year. The bike has a road draft breather element on it, which sits under the motor. The issue is it drips oil intermittently, and is the only place this motor drips. Whats a better way to set up a breather??

Thanks.

you may have wear on the breather valve / the plastic one that causes leaks - well its what we see anyway , others think the 6 dollar valve is better then the metal one you can install in its place

to answer the question - we run a new hose - turn the fitting up not down and bring the hose up and over the top of the oil tank and back down again - on the chain drives we set it so any vapor blows on the chain - belt drive we set it so it goes to the low spot and add a filter in the center in the ground strap area with the cross brace

Or...Throw the damn filter A-Way...Once it has a bit of oil on it...it will never "clean itself"
only drip incessantly. I hate 'em!!!!

No need for a filter. It's only a timed exhaust hose. Mine points straight down at the ground.

There's a few trick small catch cans that you can install that solves that problem, check ebay or do what John suggests it's the most practical.
