I have acquired an original pair of hard saddlebags with all the hardware, well most of it. It appears that at one time or another there was some sort of rail or rack attached to them as there appears to be holes that were at one time or another filled with fiberglass. 9 holes with on in the front center of the lid. Does anyone know what was on there and where I can find what ever it was?
That's what I assume would go on top Joe, although there are nine holes on each lid symmetrically situated on the lids that were filled in. What are those off of in the picture as I would like to put something like that on mine?
The old style trim was a horse shoe shaped piece of chrome made of 1/4 chrome bar. It threaded through chrome stand offs that were mounted to the lid.
Best pic I could find in a hurry...if you find a set in good shape, don't be surprised at the high price...they made these for bags, fenders and dashes...I have been trying to score a set for a dash...every time a see a nice one on ebay, the price gets out of my spending limit in quickly. "Sick *****" makes some without the horse shoe...that is just a straight piece on each side.
