Default Shovelhead timing ?

What's the best or easiest way to set timing on shovelhead.

Do a search and you should get plenty of results. But in a nut shell I static time mine. For 70 and later models set the points at .018. Put the front cylinder full advance mark in the timing window. Connect a test light to the points and ground. Loosen the point backing plate. Hold the points cam in full advance. Rotate the backing plate until the light just comes on as the points open on the small lob of the cam. Tighten it down and your done.
