Thumbs up 1979 FXE 1200 Shovelhead

Hi folks,
I recently bought a 79' FXE 1200 shovelhead. The motor and tranny are in good working order. I plan on doing a dual front brake conversion. Any suggestions would be greatly welcomed.

Welcome to the forum first off. Personally I'd look around for one the older dual disc wideglide front ends. Still find those for sale on ebay and at swaps fairly regular. Also start watching you area's craigs list, seen them complete with brakes & wheel for $500 or so.

Dual conversion? I'm quite sure that all the FX's that year had the dual calipers.

That's what I was thinking also. My 78 FXE has dual disc brakes up front. OP are you talking about upgrading the brakes to Brembo's for example?
