I thought S&S put their numbers on the side facing the timing hole. Just a little lower so the balancing holes wouldn't wipe out the numbers.
Maybe you can see something that I don't. Since the cam is out, I can see through the timing hole or the cam bearing hole.
Seems there are different ways to anchor the crank pin nuts with different manufacturers.

I looked through the cam bearing hole. I rotated the crankshaft but still didn't see any markings.
While I was at it, I was able to take a rod and square to measure the distance from the center of the crank pin to the center of the pinion shaft. It came out at 2.25 inches. making the stroke actually 4.50 inches and not 4.75 inches.
So it looks like I have more of an 80 inch motor than an 88. Wow, from 96 to 88 to 80. The incredible shrinking Shovelhead.
