VOES Ignition Timing

VOES Ignition Timing
if power was fed to the purple wire, would that have fried the ignition module ?
It still has sparks on both cylinders, just not at the right time.
It is an S&S module, and the red light does not come on anywhere near the T:F mark.

I'm really hoping someone didn't remove the generator style distributor from the motor and then put it back incorrectly. I wish I had noticed beforehand that all the ignition wires were hooked up incorrectly, before I put a new battery in it.
The only way I can think of to determine power stroke on the TF mark is to lift push rod tubes and watch the lifters ? Btw, all lifter/push rods had slight drag and no slack at the lowest points.
It is a 93" alt/gen shovel. 3" open belt, fx 4sp kick only. S&S.

The index on the timing cup was very close to one O'clock (slightly less).
I couldn't get the brass screw loose, so I left it alone.
The module was a 1241, but now replacement is 1300 series.
I should be able to use the same cup ? Yes/No ?
I think I read somewhere that S&S recommends timing it as the TF : is leaving the hole to the left ?
