I recently picked up a '68 FLH where the PO had mounted a CV carb. He also switched out the stock handlebars and replaced them with a modern set with modern switches and 2 external throttle cables. I have a set of stock bars with most of the parts. The question is could I run the CV with a single cable run through the stock bars with a stock push cable?
Thanks in advance.
you turn a early style mikuni cable around backwards ( the type with no threads ) and it gives you the slack adjustment at the carb end as its inclosed at the bar

I guess I need to see that one...
I still think if ya modified the bellcrank [barrel] of the CV you could successfully push it with the Stock [stiff] cable.
May need to unwind or even remove the return spring also
Yes, you can switch spirals to get a pull spiral for the throttle. Also, you can replace the wire with stranded cable to operate easier. It will adapt to the bends you'll have to make hooking up to the carb better than the wire.
Obviously, it's not going to be stock with the CV carb on a '68 but I wanted to get rid of the later bars, switches and exterior throttle cables if possible. What years were those early Mikuni cables used on?
