Default 99 Road King Front end work on 72 FLH?

The triple trees are different. The stem sits ahead of the fork tubes. Am I making sense? So I was wondering if it would fit. It's a 7 inch stem, so it will fit the frame neck. Just don't know how the rest would work. Sure looks nice.

probably not - when they reversed the trees they extended the neck - forks would probably hit the tanks - but I'm only guessing...

Use your old tree's and nacelle, the rest is interchangeable. I've done a few conversions using later model tubes & legs on older bikes.

Wish I could. Bike has adjustable triple trees and no nacelle.

Unless you can take the plugs off the existing forks and screw them into newer forks. The plugs are pictured in the link. I might take them off and bring them to a swap meet and see if they screw into any other forks.

Roger that, good buddy.

Yep, she's pretty much a rat right now, but I'll have her looking and running great. I'm waiting to get the title back before I start dumping money into it. Called motor vehicles and titles on the way.

Dual calipers, axle, nacelle, spot lights and light bar, headlight, forks and brake lines. No wheel or handlebars or controls. It's actually a 98, not a 99 as I originally thought.

When did HD reverse the triple trees? Anyone know the year? I can't for sure tell in the pics if the stem sits ahead of, or behind, the fork tubes.
