72 FLH resto: rear brake hub dowels. How to install?
Rear juice brake hub has 5 dowels that mate with holes in wheel. there are 10 holes in all: the other 5 get bolts.
I'm seeing threads in the empty hole and JP cycle has a pic of the dowels with no threads. Are they press fit and threads be damned?

Billl take a look at the inside of the hub where it mates to the drum. There will be 5 flat holes and 5 slightly beveled holes. The beveled holes are for the bolts (bevel matches the taper on the bolts). And it is a slight press fit to get the dowels into the flat holes. Only time there is a real problem is when the hub has been powder coated and the powder coating inside the holes needs to be removed so the dowels will fit without beating the hub.
