Rubber Bushings OK On Front Caliper?
I'm getting closer to having the '75 SuperGlide that my brother left me back on the road. Replaced the front caliper today with another triangular shaped caliper like the previous one and noticed that a bracket might have a tendency to rattle on bumps. The hole in the bracket at top is a loose fit over the post that goes through it, looks to be designed that way for the old and the new caliper.
It appears that I could slice some rubber bushings open and slip them over the post on either side of the bracket to absorb shock and avoid, or at least dampen, metal to metal 'clanging'. Is there any reason why I wouldn't want to do that?

Ah - sorry!
Yes, that is the caliper.
The parts manual shows the part as "anchor arm", #17 on the attached diagram. The top hole just below where the bolt goes through is somewhat generous vs. the pin running through it , and I'll speculate that there would be occasional noise due to the loose fit and opportunity for metal to metal contact.
Haven't had an opportunity to take it on the road yet, so maybe there isn't an issue. But I could see putting some rubber washers or grommets on either side of the anchor arm to quiet any potential noise.
