Default Shorter springs in a FXWG front end?

Hey Guys- I bought a '77 FXE with later '84-'99 FXWG style front forks. Id like to lower the forks by a couple inches, so I was wondering if it would be as easy as swapping out the 21" springs in it currently for 19" springs? I saw some on eBay for pretty cheap, cheaper than a Progressive Drop-in kit.

You may wanna replace the spacers with cheap 'cut to size' PVC pipe. I did that same kinda conversion on my FXR narrow glide front forks years ago. As an FYI, I did swap out the stock springs with shorter Progressive Suspension springs to maintain ride quality and not bottom or top out over bumps and swales. IMHO, They are worth every cent.
