Does anybody know where I can pickup a solo and/or pedistal seat for my 1980 FLH??
Also are those pretty confortable? I would like to do some longer distances on my bike next season. The problem with the seat I have now is that it pushes me forward a little too much. thanks..

Pedistal seat? Are you referring to the solo type cop seats or Buddy type seats w/ the "pogo stick" supporting underneath? If so, my police FLH came with one of those solo leather seatsand I've ridden around on one of those for years. They're comfortable and I've done many miles of them but it will put you in a higher and in a more forward position than the seat you currently have on your bike posted on this site. Good luck.

Have looked into the police solo with a spring set? I am like you, I wanted the same thing for my 81 FLHS shovelhead, but when I looked at the tube on the frame, I could see how far forward and high it would be, so am going with the solo and and springs. In fact, I just got mine ordered. I got mine off of ebay that is not a police seat, but a custom seat, but J&J has police solos and spring kits.

Tim: I ordered mine off anebay store, City Chppers I believe. $159.00with the springs and mounting bracket. I searched solo seats and came up with a full grain leather seat made by LaRosa Design. These were abillet metalseat pan, vegatable oil tanned leather under the seat pan,and leather with a design on the seating area, and hand laced together... They are 16 long and 13 wide.... I just stumbled across it and it was exactly what I wanted, as it will sit me back and not too high... like a pedistal would. Type in your search: 'LaRosa designHarley Davidson solo leather seats' and see if there are any left on ebay....if not post again and I will try to get an email and some pictures....

I have a solo with the pole, I cut the pole made a new hole for the bolt , and moved the bracket under the seat back and it works great
