oil help
I have a 76 shovel , leaking huge amounts of oil from the primary, I think it is between the inner and the motor, but I can lose two quarts in 150 miles. should that much oil be circulating thru the primary or do I have other issues besides fixing the leak at the motor Thanks

RE: oil help
If your'e lucky, it could be one of the oil lines going to the primary.
It's a bitch to see, but with a strong flashlight and a mirror, you might be able to see something between the motor and the inner.
You'll have to try to wipe it down to get a good look.
Was there any recent work done to it? Breather problem perhaps?

RE: oil help
I capped the oil line going from the pump to the primary. I did not want that oil with all the clutch trash rolling through my motor. The oil in my primary is self contained.
Is it blowing into the primary or leaking straight out to the ground?
If you are leaking from the inner and the motor at the shaft. I would say that you have a pretty big issue on your hands if you don't get it taken care of.
