Default Can anyone help me identify?

I am not even sure if this is the right place to ask this or not. But I just got my dad's bike and have no idea what I am looking at. I ride sport bikes and have never realy owned a Harley until today so I dont know much about them. I know that its obviously a shovel head and the registration says 1980 FXS. Now I was told by my aunt that the bike was what he called a "mongroloide" and consisted of a few bikes.

Jason what you have is a bike that originally started its life as an FXS-80.
The numbers on the vin...7G38187J0 provide the information.

7G means it began its like as an FXS-80; 1980 models carry the J0 on the last two digits

The carb is made by Edlebrock...they were made for high performance type bikes. They also did heads and such. I do not have a great deal of knowledge about their carbs (most of mine is about stock Linkerts and S&SBs).

Definately started life as a 1980 80" FXS Lowrider. Many custom features now, custom front end, stock style brakes, custom wheels, Edelbrock carb. Stock would have been a Kehein. Custom dash. Forward controls. Nice bike, enjoy it.

IlDuce,
I am not positive about this, but I thought the FXS models had dual front disc brakes. Are ya sure they had a single disc in front? I'm not trying to restore one but the 1979 FXS I have had a dual disc front end on it when I took ownership. The bike had been through a lot by the time I got it but I thought it was the original front end. Where did you get your info?
