Nice bike... I seen you post that on facebook last year. I probably spent 30 minutes drooling over it.

 

I found this last Summer. 8,625 original miles.

 

I bought this 1978 1/2 FXS Lowrider in 1994 in a divorce sale in Dayton, Ohio. The first picture is the 2nd paint job I did in 1998. The second and third picture is the first paint job I did when I bought it. I put those tanks and fender back on and just last week, put the 1997 FLHT front end on. I like it sitting much lower than the wide glide front end I had on it. I installed Evo ignition, 32 amp alternator, home made exhaust, home made foot boards and forward controls, isolated primary oil and the horn came off of a boat.

 

That's a great find. I wish I could find one that nice.

Rear disc isn't stainless and this is Florida. It took a little time to put the tanks, fender and front end on. The bike hasn't been ridden in about a month and a half. Waiting on parts mostly. The front discs and calipers came from e-bay and I had to wait on a new petcock because of a leaky old one. Can't understand why it leaked. It was brand new in 1978.

 

I got a new pic. Rode to Lexington sat, was Lee-Jackson day. So why not a pic of them next to a confederate.

 

 

My 77 Super Glide FXE

 

Couple of my 75 FXE. Only non-OEM parts (for YOM) are front brake line, bolts holding front rotor to the hub, tires, battery side cover, 30 amp fuse off + side of battery, and 79 forward foot pegs.
