I've always liked the lowrider but its had to find one that hasn't been butchered. You do feel like your sitting pretty low.

Thing about shovels , you can configure them about any way your heart desires they are hands down the most modifiable harley ever made . You like the look of the 80 Wideglide ? It's a frontend , rear fender and taillight change out for any of the generic mid to late 70's FX models out there to make one look just like that .

I had an 84 FXS (Had a 74 FXE before that)

The 84 was an awesome bike, very few problems.
The Hitachi starter was the weakest link in the chain.

Speaking of chains, I used to lube it with dist points cam lube
(Sticks great) No oil flinging off. Had the chain oiler turned off.

It had Wiseco 9.5-1 pistons, 440 Sifton cam & a Mikuni HS40.
Strong runner. I'll try to find pics to post.

there is a lot of bugs in them but if you have built your bike by yourself like I did then you usaly work them out or manufacture a beter compromise. love my shovelhead, good luck ride hard and stay safe
