NO Compresion in cylinders...
#23
Thanks for all the info to go off of. I will try to do some of this testing (hopefully tomorrow) and I will let you guys know. When I adjusted them before I think we just put the cylinders at TDC and adjusted them by the manual. From what you guys are saying is I do not think I did it correctly.
Keep the suggestions coming every post gives me something to think about.

Sorry I left you all in limbo. I have been busy with work as my parents have been on vacation since mid June so I am running the business totally on my own.
I have the engine back in and connected to the tranny. I installed a kicker but it kicks HARD and makes a terrible sound so I am waiting for my mechanic to clear up some time to work on my bike. In the mean time I am working on tracking down wiring and checking and rechecking to make sure it has gone back together right.
I am off to figure out how to load pictures and I will get some on this evening.

I have done a crap job at keeping you guys up to date!
The front cylinder had a hole the size of my pinky, the rear was the size of my thumb. We decided the rear went out first and the retards "tinkering" with her just kept riding until she was completely dead!
I have about $5k invested in the engine so far. I am hoping that I can have her running by the end of the month.
I was reading back through the thread, I guess in my first post I was a little pie in the sky when I thought she would be running in a few weeks!
Thanks for all of the help and I will try diligently to update this as I get further ahead.
I did go take a MotoEd course here in Texas, which boosted my confidence and hopefully will save my hide.
