Keep the suggestions coming every post gives me something to think about.

Get the manual, you adjusted them wrong. You adjust the lifters at the lowest point. You determine this by watching the oposite cylinder reach the highest point. In other words if you are adjusting the front intake you look at the rear intake and as it reaches the highest point the front should be at the bottom. Also if you still have the hydraulic lifters and you did not let them bleed down before you turned the motor to do the next one you could have bent a push rod or a valve.

Sorry I left you all in limbo. I have been busy with work as my parents have been on vacation since mid June so I am running the business totally on my own.

I have the engine back in and connected to the tranny. I installed a kicker but it kicks HARD and makes a terrible sound so I am waiting for my mechanic to clear up some time to work on my bike. In the mean time I am working on tracking down wiring and checking and rechecking to make sure it has gone back together right.

I am off to figure out how to load pictures and I will get some on this evening.

Taking a break eating dinner, and getting caught off guard!

First kick! Didn't get the results I wanted.

Now I just need to get some pictures of me riding her

I have done a crap job at keeping you guys up to date!

The front cylinder had a hole the size of my pinky, the rear was the size of my thumb. We decided the rear went out first and the retards "tinkering" with her just kept riding until she was completely dead!

I have about $5k invested in the engine so far. I am hoping that I can have her running by the end of the month.

I was reading back through the thread, I guess in my first post I was a little pie in the sky when I thought she would be running in a few weeks!

Thanks for all of the help and I will try diligently to update this as I get further ahead.

I did go take a MotoEd course here in Texas, which boosted my confidence and hopefully will save my hide.

Mike
