Hey folks, my 1980 shovelhead has an s&s carb, she idles fine and takes full throttle fine but if I just roll on it after cruising she stutters then goes. Also,the front pipe is blue and the rear is starting to develope a straw color. I just got this bike and it is as I've described. Thanks for any help.

 

If it's an E carb turn the accelerator pump adj screw all the way in (cw ) then turn it out 1 turn (ccw ) see if that makes it better

 

I agree its probably the accelerater pump. Go to S&S website and download the manual, it tells you every thing you need to know to get it right.

Thanks for the info, I'm new to the s&s carb thing ( had a '67 glide way back in 76).
