Default 1979 derby cover

Does anyone here know what the stock derby cover is for the 1979 FXS-80 Low Rider.

A chrome one is $20 from J&P Cycles. Part #6000370.

is that what came from the factory? i am wanting to get it back to original

Probably wasn't originally chrome. For that price, you could strip it, or look for one at a swap meet. An Evo one will fit too (3-hole). My neighbor warped the one on his Evo by uneven tightening, so I let him use mine from my '79 FLH until he got another one. Might still be laying around here, if you need it that badly.

If I remember right it was just plain blank aluminium on that year , no chrome or fancy stuff .

You are absolutely right! Chrome was a option put on by the dealer.

K...looking at the 79 sales brochure. The center section has a full spread on the Low Rider. Doesn't mention in the description if it is a 1200 or an 80.

That being said the cover is flat and has the Eagle on it with the "made in USA" logo

Man I envy your resources on some of this stuff , your gonna have to clue me into the secret if it's on-line please I don't surf enough LOL .

I remember that cover but thought it was a later model and an option .

Not on lint just some stuff I have collected over the years. Have the 79 brochure cuz I always liked the cream-colored FLH models.
