Default Dual disc forks...??

Hi forum. I'm building a 1967 FLH and would like to put dual disc forks on it. Question: Will a narrow glide (FXR, etc.) fit or adapt dual discs to '67 wide glide? I'm also going to run with a 19" front tire so mabey it makes more sense to install an FXR? What are your thoughts? THANKS!

If I understand you correctly, you're jumping "generations" of brake systems. FXR calipers will not fit 67 lower legs.

If you're swapping the lower legs of a later 41 mm glide, to your 67, you can retro fit the brakes.

FXR ( 82 to 94,) ran 39 mm forks, way too wimpy to support your heavier glide. As I said, you've got 41 mm legs. So the calipers will fit the legs, that have to fit the 41 mm tubes, ( for that set up to work,) and fit your triple trees too.

In other words bolt an entire front end onto your triple trees, and don't forget the upgraded Master Cylinder.

Edit: 35 mm forks until '06 39mm

You can swap the whole front end tree's and all ok the headcups & bearings are the same . You can not mix and match parts from 35mm to 41mm setups .

What I would suggest is find a set of 2000 or later dresser tubes & lower leg assy. with the dual brake mounts and the wheel . Your tree's will take the late model tubes & legs no problem and you have a way better front end , those old FL jobs are like riding rocks .

Check this link they have some nice tech tips & vids explaining this conversion . You do well to steer clear of the older skinny front's & brakes if you can they didn't work that well and all the calipers & mounts are worn out and sloppy as hell by now . Real pain to rebuild too .

I had a FLT front end (dual disc) layind around in the garage. I swapped the trees to my FLH trees, and whallah, Double disc frontend instead of the banana caliper front end(it was wadded up anyway)

I have a few 35 mm dual disc front ends lying around complete brakes and all if your looking buy one. You may have to alter your fork stops?
