Bone stock bike not a whole lot but if you have crappy gas like we do here state side it does make for easier starting and ignition fine tuning , plugs last longer and it does cut way down on ignition knock & ping . If the engine has been pumped up a bit they are a definite plus . I run dual plugs on about all my shovel builds anymore on my 93" it's like I have a passenger on if I pull one set of wires , that much difference in performance .

As with any motor vehicle manufactorer, Harley gives us the minimum we need to get down the road. I wish they would dual plug every motor they produce. With the fuel getting crappier by the month, as stated before, dual plugs give tunability to overcome it.
Just make sure the folks who are going to drill and tap the hole know what they are doing, or you'll just have a set of ashtrays. Or you can put the OEM's on the shelf and spring for a set of S$S with dual plugs. Then there's the ignition to go with it and the stroker kit.........

i agree, the factory should have dual plugged every shovel & iron XL.on high compression motors its a must, but even on bone stock motors, its still a good idea.if you do it,use 2 6v coils, then wire them in series

Gotta have them in a domed compression chamber like shovels have , Evo & twinkies with the flat tops and no hemi head duals are a waste of money .

Thanks for all the advice guys, I have a local shop that has done a few duallug conversions. They have quoted me $240.00 to do the job. My engine has only done 4400 miles in the last 6 years so I intend to refresh the top end while I am giving the whole bike a B/D. So I may as well go the whole way while it is pulled apart. I will post some progress photos over the next few months.
Cheers
