When I set up a belt system or bigger tire I do an alignment check but it involves pulling the rear fender . I run a string line down the backbone of the frame between the tanks on the centerline of the frame then back off the rear of the fender rails . It can show you all kinda interesting things like whether the rails are true & parallel and you'd be real surprised how often they are tweaked and how badly , this makes a difference in a lot of alignment issues and vibration . It also gives you the low on is the tire is centered or not hence the clearance issues and you'll see a tracking problem plain as day . I'm betting your tire is offset a bit or misaligned . It's winter and you've got some time on your hands , play a bit it and see .
