Default Speedometer Help Needed

I have an 81 Wide Glide with the cow pie transmission. The transmission is not setup for the speedometer drive (no hole). I have dual front disc brakes so I don't think I can use a front wheel speedometer drive there. What other options are available to get a speedometer working on it? All suggestions are welcome as I have run out of ideas.
Thanks,
Oldsarge29

I have a narrow glide dual disc with a front wheel drive speedo. You need to have a 2:1 speedo, I think trans drives are 1:1. Usually the drive takes the place of a spacer on the front axle.

To get the correct readings with my 21 inch front wheel, I understand that I need the 2240:60 setup. The drive that I bought that was advertised to fit does not fit. It is too thick (wide) to work on my wide glide dual disc front end.

Does the wheel have the slot for the tab to fit in or does the kit have some type of bolt on drive system?

I dont have a kit, just a drive. No slot in the wheel. The drive that I have slips on the axle and the tab is supposed to go into a slot.

you can put a notch in the rotor with a dremmel for the drive tang

or drill a hole in the rotor / and or hub at the location of the drive tang

its not rocket stuff just a spot on center for the thing to turn the cable unit

That was my plan but the drive unit is too wide (thick) to fit between the fork leg and the wheel. I need a drive unit that is roughly .625 inches wide to fit where the spaces is now. I have not found one like that yet.

How about machining the one you have down to the size you need?
