20W50, straight 50 or 60 wt, all would work fine. If it was me I would run 20W50 in Ohio. Think about those cool mornings, even in the summer.

Ok 2 things do not use the term " Ironhead " when talking about about a shovelhead , Ironhead was the old sportsters which had cast steel heads where the shovels are aluminum big difference .

Second thing shovels due to the crappy hydraulic lifter & oiling system do not like 20-50 multi weight oil they get real noisy and they will smoke more as the multi oils gets past the valve guides don't ask why but it does , use 50 or 60 straight weight and maybe 70 if the bikes high milage or it goes over 100 regular during the summers . Been building & riding pans , shovels and old brit bikes pushing 40 years , this has proved out many times over .

when I go up north (Pa.) I run 70 in the summer and 60 around now -- I use NOTHING but ULTIMA oil - and militec 1 -- my bike is on 5 years when I change the oil theres NOTHING on the magnet -- I have the spin on oil filter that's sits by the voltage reg..

seen a few people run the 20/50 some swear by it -- stock hyd lifters wont work -- they will make a racket --

good deal on ultima 70 wt -- http://www.ebay.com/itm/360372019276...84.m1439.l2649 ---

$72 a case free shipping --

need other weights??

50 wt most of the year, 60 wt the July and August. Actually, sometimes I run a 50/50 blend of 50-60 wt.
