Unhappy 1977 superglide no start just a clicking sound

Started with a bad battery caused a melt down and now I have a new battery, solenoid and solenoid switch. I have the starter out of the picture now and cleared off the solenoid. I cant get the solenoid to pull in and all the wires have been replaced to the diagrams. I see a voltage drop at the solenoid when I hit the start button about 10 or 11 vdc not enough I guess ? I can jump the solenoid and it will pull out the jack shaft like a slick cat.

Check the ground cable where it connects to the motor. Remove, clean and reinstall. I had this same issue with a 2005 Victory.

Check and clean all the battery cables & all grounding points , next is the starter relay thats connects the button to the solenoid . It's bad or the wirings funky it won't pull in and you get the voltage drop like you saw , they are cheap replace it .

+1 on the starter relay. My Ironhead did the same thing, I jumped the solenoid, and just like you said, it pulled in.

Relay cost me $14, took literally 90 seconds to install, not 1 "click" since.
