those are some good looking bikes gentlemen.
scored a 96 road king transmission with 22k miles on it. going to open it up and inspect anyways and replace the shifter pawl to prevent future problems. hoping to get the frame painted this weekend after i weld on tabs for the 93-96 side covers i picked up.
here's what's left for final assembly:
polish fork legs and re-assemble the forks
space out the new front wheel
polish rocker boxes and install heads
drivetrain is a straight drop in
wire it up. have a thunder heart racing setup, so that'll be simple
doesn't seem like much, but it'll still take a lot of man hours. and my time is limited with hanging out with my 1 yr old son. hope to be riding by march

SeaZund - same scoot. Did like those true duals on the '80 model.

Felt like a very productive weekend. Got the frame coated, re-assembled the trans with new bearings, seals, and a baker shift pawl unit. Bolted it in and torqued down the swing arm.
The return line fitting for the engine oil on the trans lines up exactly with the crankcase vent fitting. So I had to move the return like. Found a nice spot in the oil fill/dipstick. Quick drill and tap and we're good to go.
Also had time to measure the end play for the rocker arms. While the specs are .004-.025, I'm going to tighten them up a bit. So a quick counterbore on the spcacers and we'll be good to to. Then I can polish then up and plug this motor in the frame for the last time.
