Default Can anyone identify these tins

Hi,

I'm looking to buy the below motorcycle. I'm being told its a 77 FX super glide as thats what its titled as.. But the tins and front end clearly say otherwise. I'm going to look at the bike this weekend, so i'll find out what the VIN has to say. But until then, does anyone know what these tins may have come from?

thanks

Either after market or late model definitely not 77FX. Look at the vin on both the motor and frame to be sure. The bike has been thoroughly customized and nothing but the motor and transmission appear to be 77. Front end, brakes, wheels, shocks, tanks, fenders etc are all changed.

Thanks, thats what i figured. I like the way the bike looks, but i at least want the base of it to be a real Harley frame and drivetrain.

As was said, the numbers will tell you what it started life as. Very common to see bikes of this era to have parts from other models. The frames are all basically the same and many (most) parts interchangeable. Those tanks are also extended, whether they were once stock or aftermarket. Nice looking bike.
