Default 1981 FXWG questions

Long time lurker with some ID questions on a Wide Glide.
I am trying to determine how many parts are stock on a possible project bike.
VIN on paperwork says it's a Wide Glide and I havent checked the frame yet. All of the pics I can find on the web look a little different than it does. I know lots of POs could have changed things but I want to know what it came with. So here are some things I am curious about:

Speedo console - the one on it is chrome top and sides - pics I find are black

Primary is chrome - same thing - pics are black

Nose cone - chrome - yada yada yada

Front signals are on the handle bars - I can find both online

Tank is either wrong or mounted wrong - Crossover is on Rocker cover

Seat mount has a tab welded to the frame below tank - doesn't look right

Tin can starter relay - the parts book I have doesn't even list that year - weird...

Can't decide if I am going to take on the project but if I do, how much of it is stock will decide the direction I go in.

Any help is appreciated.
Cheers
Tom

The chrome nose cone, primary etc. are owner add on. I'm not sure that the speedo cover was chromed or black. The welded bracket is for a non oem seat. The Wide Glide came with 5 gallon tanks. I couldn't tell from the photo whether you still had them or they were traded for 3 1/2 gallon which would put the cross over closer to the heads.

That info is great. 3steps left-convince the other half, settle on a price with the owner (sux cause he is a good friend, so no hardball), and decide... Resto or 'resto mod' (I hate that term). I guess I should get it running first... Crap battery toasted the solenoid and bad back keeps the kicks to a minimum. Hey - it's in my garage, right?

Agreed , looks like 3-1/2gal tanks in the pic , the crossover on those will rub the heads on some bikes .
