Default '80 FXEF 80" wiring woes

After too many years, putting my bike back together. Had it down to the frame and its been one bolt at a time. Stock wiring. I have the HD manual and the correct wiring diagram.

Problem: Right turn signal flashes very weak front and rear. Headlight, oil pressure, and nuetral lights all dim as the flasher clicks. Eventually a breaker pops.

If I unplug the rear harness at the fender, front right signal flashes perfectly fine with no dimming of any other light and no breaker pop.

All bulbs are new and connections are clean. I went thru the switch and its clean, securely mounted, with good springback on every push. Left turn signal works perfectly both front and rear. I have a multimeter but I aint no electrical engineer.

Ideas?

You answered your own question...there is a short in your rear harness.

I'd say a short also. Got a bare wire touching somewhere back there.
