Default audio read switch

how do i test the audio read switch for the advanced volume control on an 1996 flhtc. the test i performed was this: multi-meter on 20 volts range, grounded on bike frame with the positive lead on the white and green striped wire going in the speedometer. I get a reading of 7.5 volts, when I turn the front wheel forward the voltage goes down the faster i turn, down to 1.3 volts when i turn as fast as i can by hand. am i doing doing the right procedure

The EVO electrical section is your best bet on that - this is the no frills mans machine section
