Pics of my new ride
Just picked this up. It's a 1999 FXSTC Softail Custom. Price was a steal so I had to buy. Only 4343km (2692 miles). That's right, no typo, 2692 miles. Bought from the original owner, who bought it in 1999 as a new rider without even getting his full motorcycle license. So this inexperienced dude with the freshly minted bike of his dreams took a ride one day, got cut off and dropped the bike denting the tank. He had it painted then put it in the garage and pretty much never touched it again. I think the size of the bike and the fall he took scared the hell out of him. He seemed almost afraid of the thing. "It shakes like crazy" he says to me, as if it was some kind of monster, LOL.
I was the first and only guy to go see this bike. Original tires with almost no wear. There's minor pitting in some of the chrome because he stored it in an unheated garage, but it can easily be replaced. Otherwise it's a mint bike, with a second set of Vance and Hines shorties, the original mufflers and a few other things including the original bill of sale (man, did he ever lose money on the selling price).
I wanted an EVO bike after talking with some experienced Harley guys. I compared the EVO bikes with the Twin Cam bikes and decided the EVO deal was just too good to pass up - plus she shakes like a real Harley. I have always wanted this particular model since it first came out in 1984. The bike and the engine that rebuilt Harley Davidson Motor Company, one of the coolest looking ever made. So, now I have one.
