my back vents stay mostly open as nothing happens unless the front vents are open.. and it works well when they are.

Vents work, but not as well as a fully-perforated leather jacket or a mesh-type jacket...

Leaving the vents open in the back keeps my jacket from puffing up with air when I am on the highway.

Yes they do. Don't see what's silly about them.

Is there a way to add vents to a jacket? I have this leather jacket I really like to wear when I ride, but it fills up with air like a balloon.

They work well. Big difference when open. Glad my jacket has them.

It's a vent, not a window. It's just as open as a vent in a car. Fluid dynamics, volume, velocity, etc. You know what I'm talking about. . .

They work great. But when it gets too hot, I go with the mesh jacket, though I prefer the leather for additional protection.
