Default New guy with a not so new roadster.

Signed up here about a week ago looking for some advice on a possible trade, and thankfully some more knowledgable HD owners convinced me not to get the other bike. Well, yesterday, I traded my 2006 gixxer for a 2006 HD 1200 Roadster. I am absolutely in love with the bike and cant wait to ride it more. After riding the GSXR for the last year or so, it was getting kind of monotonous. A friend of mine bought a '15 iron and needed someone to ride it home for him (he has never ridden before) so I volunteered. After riding it, I realized just how much I had really missed cruising.
Anyways, enough words, here's a pic:

The blue was just a lucky coincidence. I put an add on craiglist wanting to trade my GSXR straight up for a Harley (left the model vague) and after 2 weeks, someone from Austin texted me wanting to trade. He had always been a sportbike guy and decided to try a Harley and found himself wanting a sportbike again. I really think I got the better end of the deal.

I really like the roadsters and honestly, what other color would you want?

Congratulations on the XL1200R! I've had mine since new in 2005 I and love it. It is one bike NOT leaving my "collection". It's quick enough for me, does great in the twisties, and is nimble around town.

The only thing I plan on changing is the bars. I am just leaning over a little too much, but other than that, I love everything about it.

Can't tell for sure from the picture angles, but they don't look like the stock bars to me. Let us know what you change to, and pics too, please!

Welcome from NC.

Very nice trade indeed. Don't forget some earplugs with those pipes.
