Default Sundowner or Ultra seat

Hi All

I have a 2016 FLHXS and own a Sundowner seat, but after an hour or so my tailbone hurts, would a seat from an Ultra be better, looks like it has a relief section for the tailbone area, We ride 2 up often and the wife likes the sundowner but for me not so much

Who knows? For one person it might be better, for another not. The only way for you to know would be to demo one for a few days But I don't think dealers have Ultra seats for demo so unless you have a friend willing to loan you theirs........

FWIW, I switched out a stock RK seat for an ultra, a buddy of mine switched out his (same year RK) for a Sundowner. For me at least the Ultra provided more support. Saying that I did eventually add a back rest....THAT helped. GL : )

Yeah, to each his own, but we both really like the Sundowner, on our third year with it. I did a test ride on an Ultra the other day, felt like I was sitting on the tank, my wife liked it, of course she did had more room then me!

Ultra gives you a 14 day no questions asked trial period! No one else does that. Call and talk with them. I've owned many bikes and every one ALWAYS gets an ultimate set no matter what. I've never had a sundowner seat but I've never had a reason to try and use anything but ultimate seats.
I've let many sit on mine and many have bought them.

I put an ultra seat on my 2016 RGS and it moved me up a few inches.P52164-10 was the seat number.I settled on a hammock seat. The hammock seat sat me in the same position as the stock seat, and up a hair.

Same as Idahokid. I had a Sundowner and G/F found it pretty comfy, but it scrunched me a bit forward.

Switched to a Hammock and can now ride till the tank runs dry. Easy 500 mile days. No more harsh shocks up my spine.

I have used a Sundowner for a few years on my RK and now my RGS, I like it a lot. I will probably get the seat worked over the winter with some memory foam or gel to help a bit more with some cushion.
