Lower profile seat. My friend's wife just went from a Dyna to a SG and she is about the same height. He put a CVO seat on it for her, and it works well. The CVO seat is lower than the stock SG without moving you forward.

4. Boots that are "lifted."
5. Have the existing seat "shaved" and then recovered.

Since you're "short," do you have a problem with control lever reach? Or pedal reach?

Lean to the left and have your foot on the brake and in 1st gear. Works for me. Eventually you will get some muscle memory from the repetitions

A more narrow seat would be helpful as well. Leg reach is less the farther they're spread apart.

I am the same height and had the same bike..I tried the modded MCC seat and there was very little difference. I didn't want to jack with the suspension.

I ended up trading it in and getting a Heritage. It just fits me better..

True
I am 5'-9 and felt like my legs were splayed way out.
I replaced the stock seat on my SGS with a Mustang solo that was narrower.
I feel more in control of the bike when stopped, parking, or inching about at traffic lights.

The Mustang website states the width for each seat model.
I ordered fro Revzilla since they are awesome with returns and exchanges.
