26 inch wheel help
My friend has a 2009 Road Glide. He just bought an Arlen Ness triple tree with 3 degree over rake for a 26 inch rim/tire. We didn't know how it would look on the bike so we built a rim/tire out of 2x6 like good old boys would do as a mock up. We put the triple tree and 2 inch extenders on the original forks and then put tie down straps on the axle and triple tree and cranked that sucker tight to see how much the forks would come up and if it would hit against the fairing/triple tree. The forks came up two inches which left 3 inches between top of wooden rim/tire and fairing, and the same with the triple tree and rim/tire. How much space do we need? Do we need to buy extended forks/kit to raise fairing/ 4 inch fork extenders if they exist? or is the 2 inch movement with the forks enough which leaves us about 3 inches spare before hitting anything. Any and all replies are greatly appreciated and please feel free to comment on the picture if I can upload it correctly,

That's a great mockup, well done. It reminds me of the world's oldest wheel, which we saw when visiting Ljubljana, capital of Slovenia. Makes me wonder what the original builders had in mind 5,000 years ago.....
