Default How To Clean Bike After Riding in the Rain

I bought my new 2017 Ultra and trailered it home from out of state. I ended up running through torrential rains for the last several hours of the trip. My brand new bike is trashed with road dirt. My question is is there some kind of soap that will remove the road grim in the hard to get areas that I can't get a rag on? Thanks!

Trailered your bike behind your vehicle on an open trailer in the rain. I can only imagine the road grime on your bike. Harley has a wheel/spoke brush, its just a tapered bottle type brush but works well for getting into places your hands cant.

Riding in the rain is how I wash my bike.

But seriously, S100 works pretty well, along with your mother-in-law's toothbrush.

I was hoping that there may some kind of (spray) soap that will remove the grime with out actual touching the surface.

Ive always just used simple green. Spray your bike down, let it sit for a few minutes and then wash as normal, no high pressure jet. Dry it w the leaf blower.

And that **** will leave "pecker lookin' tracks on anything that it doesn't get taken completely off of too. White crap that will not come off.
I hate it for that reason alone which is enough of a reason for me not to use it.
Learned this lesson with it.

OP, I normally don't and wouldn't but if your ride is THAT trashed from road grime, there is no harm in taking it to a car wash and using a wand on it.
Just stand back @ least 6 feet and don't focus on one area too much.
Just don't do the dash and electronics with the wand.
You could always hand wash it with the garden hose too at home.

I used that s100 crap 20 years ago and had the same problem and I never used it again! If I get caught in the rain I usually wash my bike as soon as I get home (I'm already wet) and my bike always shines.

You'll never get that dirt film off without actually touching the surface. I rinse mine with a strong stream of water from a garden hose, staying away from the gauges and seat as much as possible. Then work my around with a micro fiber cloth using the 2 bucket method. I like to use a good car wash soap. Good rinse again. Then dry. You may want to pick up some cleaning brushes. I find the household section at the hardware store to be very useful for a selection of cleaning brushes.
