Default Need advice on new Seats

I'm thinking of getting a new seat, been looking at the following:

Drag Specialties Predator

LePera Sihouette Full Length

Le Pera Cobra

Corbin Gunfighter

Corbin Young Guns

Biltwell (?)

I really like the looks of the Corbins, and they are all leather. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I dont like pleated, ribbed, or crosshatched fabric. Smooth for me. I don't think I've seen the Biltwell in smooth.

Only ride locally, so touring level comfort not needed.

I don't have any experience with most of these seats. But I did have a Corbin on my old Suzuki intruder. I honestly didn't like it. Way to form for me.

I've just installed a Biltwell Sporty-8 on my 2015 XL883N. Haven't been able to test ride it, as it's pretty cold here right now. Looks good, though.

Thanks, AlanT,

I personally don't like the look of the bare fender/solo seat style (on my bike), or I'd just remove my pillion pad. Looking for something that has a minimalist pillion look. I usually ride solo, but you never know. I have some passenger pegs I can re-install if someone worthwhile happens by.

Thinking about the Le Pera Silhouette Pillion Pad, looks like my stock HD, only thinner, not like a loaf of bread. Looks like it matches the stock seat in texture and stitching too.

I am also not huge on the "solo" look, dont rule out a Mustang seat. My bike has the Mustang Fastback seat, and I love it. Holds me in place and has a spot to put someone in a pinch....

If looks are more a priority than comfort they sell a slimmer "Tripper" mustang fastback seat as well

There are alot of great seat makers out there, but I havent seen very many negative words about a Mustang seat.

Link to Revzilla with more info on seat

Heres mine on my Nightster

I very much prefer the solo look. To each his own, I guess.

That said, a solo seat on a Sportster looks best with a chopped rear fender, not the long stock one. So I think I'll be heading that way some time.

Good luck in your search for a seat. The Silhouette sounds like it might work well for you.

LaRosa has some new seats at that might fit the bill for you-

The one pictures is not smooth, but they do have them that are completely smooth.

You can see all of their "Slim" designs HERE.

The LePera are a little firm, if you like that. I have the Aviator on my Custom, and been looking at the Cobra. Both LePera choices are good for a low profile, and they have a 2-up version on the Silhouette with a wider pillion section.

It looks like the LaRosa seats are only for '04 and later.

I have a 1991. Really liking the looks of the LePera King Cobra, nice and low.
