Heritage Hard Bags

Heritage Hard Bags
My wife wants hard locking bags on her 2016 Heritage. We have already tried the Cycle Vision brackets and there was no clearance on the axle, even after flipping it. So we are considering the Viking Hard bags.

Do any of you have any experience with these? The other option is to do the Boss Bags stiffing kit with the lock. But they will also have to replace the lids...
either way we sre are looking at about $450 for either.
looking for input. Don't really want to throw away any more money

Hey I just did this conversion myself on my 03 and wanted to ask, are you 100% sure you were installing the correct CV bracket? There's a model for up to 2007 and then a different model for 2008 and up. And if you're 100% sure you had the right ones, curious if you called CV and what did they say?
Thanks and good luck in your search!

Do you use an axle bolt cover maybe? Just surprised they can't help you out, did you take photos of anything? And is it close or WAY off?

I've been looking at picking up another Heritage, especially now that they finally have ABS and cruise control, But then out comes the new M8 motor. Hmmm?
Why doesn't Harley make a Touring Softtail? Replace the dumb *** wire wheels with Mag Wheels or at least Tubeless Wire Wheels. Hard Saddlebags, Cruise Control, ABS and a Stereo.

New wheels- <$1000
Fairing with Stereo- <$1300
Hardbags- <$600.
Total conversion- <$2900
Do you really think Harley would sell a Softail cheaper than that?

Well Bluraven,
Now that Heritage's have ABS and cruise control the difficulties (the way I see it) in converting a Heritage to a more touring softtail are. The 5 gallon gas tank. After have 6 on my Limited, I would find 5 gallons to be limiting.
Mounting good looking hard lockable saddlebags and a tourpac.
I wouldn't want a fairing on it.
