Typically, when sliding into the saddle, I feel like I am "one" with the bike.

Shifting is smooth, you go down and up in the turns just perfectly. You just feel all in sync with the bike like you and the bike are one.

But about once a year or once every two years I will not feel in synch with the bike. Know what I mean? And the day whole ride that day is just out of synch.

That happens with others as well? If so, do you know why it happens?

Yes it has happened to me a couple times. Most likely because I had other issues on my mind while riding. You have to forget about everything that could be bothering you when you ride, that's what makes the ride complete between you and the bike as one.

Yeah, it has happened to me before. Last time it did, I ended up going into a turn too fast, sliding and high-siding.

Oh sure, happens occasionally. Mostly just stoopid stuff like shifting without the clutch, hitting the horn when I'm trying for the turn signal. once I actually laid the bike down because I forgot to drop the jiffy stand. Decades on bikes and I pull that stunt. Bike only had about a dozen miles on it. Probably in my case the result of having too much going thru my mind.

Sometimes you feel like a nut and sometimes you don't...... Haven't really felt that way on my HD but I have on my Hayabusa a few times. That bike demands your attention and respect soon as you throw you leg over it. So if I'm not feeling it for whatever reason I usually cut my ride short and head back home and Live 2 ride another day

Absolutely. Not sure what it is, but Cheryl can tell before we leave our neighborhood if I'm off. Been doing this long enough that even "off" isn't "dangerously off". It's more like balance at stoplights and lines through curves. I definitely adjust for the difference and slow down.

Definitely.

When I was just learning and starting out riding, I really couldn't tell if I had an off day, or if it was just lack of skill.

Now, I can comfortably say I have some decent skill, so I can tell when I am having an off day. Definitely, it is usually about something going through my mind.

Sure but more often than I'd like. I'll either not go riding or I'll be more careful. I have went out and after 10-15 miles, turned around and went back home.

When I don't feel right about riding, I'll take the day off. Don't argue with your 6th sense.

It happens to all of us at one time or another.
