Default Infotainment Systems Question - 6.5

On my infotainment system, listing to my radio (music) sometimes there is no interruptions meaning no pauses. And then there is other times I will be listing to my radio and there will be pauses, you here nothing for a few seconds and then it comes back on. I know its not the radio station it self because when I use my phone for music (via Bluetooth) It does the same thing at times. There will be other days with no interruptions.

There was one day I was riding with no interruptions. Then I punched into the navigation system, Take Me Home, This is one time I started having the problem with the pauses or interruptions with music. I figured if the Nav. sys. was telling me to turn here turn there I would get the interruption, but there was no voice from Nav. Sys. so I figure Nav. wasn't the problem.

I am talking about the external four speakers. Not using the headset.

Has anyone else had these issues?
And what did you do to fix it?

Also I do have the latest updates.

Check the connection between the bike wire and your headset. Why for the life of me Harley failed to design a plug and twist-lock is inexplicable. I've found that when my communications appear to cut in & out, more often than not a firm push on the wire solves the problem [until it works lose again].

Then I got nuthin' for you. I've simply stopped "updating" my system, because for every 1 "bug" cured, 2 new ones developed. I accept my current version with the flaws I have grown accustomed to.

you need to turn up the volume in the gps.

the radio and gps both have their own volume.

That's the 8-track, changing channels.

So you are telling me that if I turn the GPS volume up I wont have any interruption when I listen to the radio. That is what I am trying to accomplish.

Same thing happened to me. I accidentally hit the volume DOWN on the GPS and then when it was giving me voice instructions it was simply blank interruptions.

Took me for ever to figure out how to get the volume back up. When the radio is playing and you move the toggle it increases/decreases just the radio. As mentioned above the radio and GPS is/has separate volume settings controlled by the same toggle switch. So you have to wait for that BLANK air space and push the toggle up to increase the volume. Got to be fast!

When you get it set right it is smooth sailing!

Good luck

Not exactly the pause [ the radio or music is kinda muting while GPS is talking ] might be the navigation telling you which way to go but the volume is so low you don't hear it.
I have a hard time understanding how you could have set a destination a while ago and the GPS is still trying to take you there but unless you check the GPS volume you wont know!!

RWTDCT,
I think you're saying you don't want to hear "navigation prompts" at all, which is interrupting your music.

You need to go into navigation settings and " turn off "navigation prompts"
On the infotainment center:
Select - HOME> SETUP> FEEDBACK SETTINGS
Uncheck "ENABLE NAV PROMPTS"
as shown on page 178 of your Boom Box manual. This should stop the music interruptions.

Hope this helps.
Steve
