I seem to read it over and over about sliding on your head or getting rear-ended or having to lay it down. Makes me wonder when its my turn!

I started a poll on this topic not long ago. Results are interesting... to me anyway.

Not sure about falling off . Seen a few drunks do that. But ride 40 plus years you will go down at some time. Just law of averages.
Life is rough get a helmet , get out of the close and enjoy what life you have.
Sitting on the porch sucks unless it is after a long day of riding.

I'm sure there are riders who have ridden for decades and wondered what all the fuss is about. Don't bother youraelf, ride and enjoy. You're more likely to lose your footing while stationary and go down feeling stupid, with no more than your pride dented. Don't even bother about that!

Yes, interesting and disconcerting, though If you surveyed 10+ year cage drivers I don't think you'd get anywhere near 50% that had honestly never been involved in a fender bender (irrespective of fault).

Our problem isn't the rate IMHO, its that fender benders are bone breakers.

People say it will usually happen in your first six months of riding. So if that didn't happen your good to go.

I've been close to being run over a few times but I don't worry about it, if it happens I just hope the wife is not with me when it does. And when the police show up and find the other person bleeding from their head, I'm using the "Self Defense" plea.
