Default Wide Glide and "S" Series Discontinuation 2017

So... Idk if this has already been covered or not, but I got word from two local dealers that the along with the V Rod, the Wide Glide and the S series bikes will see it's last year of sales in 2017.

What do you think they'll replace them with?

I haven't heard this yet. However they stopped production in '08 after the hideous brown and gold anniversary edition, then came back in '10 with it redesigned.

I don't see them getting rid of the S series, they're selling too damn many of them. They'd be idiots to get rid of it, unless they're simply changing them all to the m8

Models come and go, if it's accurate, it's the second time Wide Glides have been dropped.

The s series might do like they so with cvo models and rotate them out every couple of years. Next year it might be a fat bob s or something of that nature. No telling with hd at times though.

I'd bet the Wide Glide will reappear in some form a year or two after the new M8 Dynas are released, and the S models will return eventually once the CVO M8 bikes have been around for awhile.

I'm not going to miss the 49mmglide. The wide glide was stopped in 05 on dynas. This just means the m8 will be in more models next year.

The dealer said the exact same thing. They cant keep the Low Rider S on the showroom floor because of how many they sell. Also puzzled, but they're confident it's gone apparently.

Who knows. Hd flips the models for some reason. Low rider vanished then returned better. Wide glide vanished then returned better.

they will be back. The s is just a hopped up lr, so it's not really going away. The m8 will be spreading across all the bt lines so some things will disappear... there also talk of the uni-frame. Time will tell. I think the major issue with the wide glide was those damn flames. They are polarizing. You either love them or you hate them.

considering the amount of work i went through, twice... i hope they bring it back with dual disks standard.
