Default Does this make sense to anyone?

I want to trade my 14 EG Ultra Limited with 3k miles, to the dealership here in Pensacola, for a 17 RGS with stage one installed. I have excellent credit rating (above 750). I owe 23.5 on my Limited and NADA says it's worth 19,410 for clean trade in, which is exactly what they offered me initially.
But here's the breakdown as I know it now.... though I haven't actually seen the contract yet.

MSRP $24,000 ($23,999)
Trade in $20,000 Owe $23,500 Diff (neg eqty) $3,500
Stage one kit $2,500 (approx. as relayed by Bus. Mgr.)

24,000
3,500
2,500 (let's make it 3,000 in case he was off)

24,000
3,500
3,000

$30,500

Yet he's telling me that the total finance will be $38,000 ????? WTF ?????

I believe that total is final payout through the end of the loan including interest.

Get them to show you in writing.

I bet they are adding extended warranty, tire warranty, prepaid service, you name it.

It is simply just ask them to show you the numbers on paper then you will know.

Their arithmetic appears incorrect, unless...there are a bunch of other charges in there relating to financing. Still, tough to explain that great a difference.
At first I thought you were asking about the whole transaction, and I would question its wisdom.

I think there was a 1 year warranty in there. How much is that costing me and is it necessary... he made it sound like Harley required it to make this deal because of my negative equity in the 14 Limited.
