Default Burly Cable Kits?

Fellas, I order a set of 14in Tbars for my 2001 superglide fxd. I need the burly cable kit but they don't make a kit specifically for tbars on a 2001 fxd but they do make a kit for apes. So long story short I called Burly and the guy said to look at the specs on their Apes and take a shot at it, and there may be some cable slack depending. So question is has anyone specifically done this? and do you think there will be to much slack and look like ****? Maybe the 12in ape kit will do well with the the 14in tbars because of the width and pullback difference?

For reference the bars and kit

Are you stuck on burly brand? I just used Magnum Shielding for an install on my 01 wg with apes, but you order each cable individually so you get the exact length you need. They look great too.

I installed a 12 inch Burley brand ape on my Superglide FXD. I bought the cable and electric extensions for the rise from Burley also. The cables are a little long, not ugly long but could have been shorter. Not to say the stock ones would have ever worked. Just my .01.

Run to the hardware store and get several feet of 3/8 tubing and mock it up youself. Then you'll know within a couple inches what you actually need.

You could also look in to Barnett Clutches for cables too. Their prices don't increase from stock to +20" like most company's cables do. I think I had a $100 difference between them and Magnum when I got quotes back from each. I didn't go with Burley because they don't make them to custom length if needed and also heard they aren't the best quality.

Thanks for the tips fellas. After looking into all the options I went ahead and purchased the 12" ape kit. Looking at all the measurements of the burly apes the kit is made for it should definitely work without to much slack. After removing my current bars it was very clear all the cables and the wires are going to be to short. I'll post pictures once I get everything and let you all know how it turns out.

I bought the ape kit for my riser and handlebar set up and there is a bit of extra slack but I wanna say that burly makes a kit for the actual tbars now. I may be wrong but I could have swore I saw that somewhere online or in a Hot Bike recently.

I can get some pictures later today. There's not a large amount of slack with the ape kit but there's some. I wish I would've went a different route but I didn't want to wait and piece together everything I needed at the time. The tbar kit came out not that long ago because it wasn't around when I ordered my cable kit last spring/early summer. Here's a link for the tbar cable kits http://www.burlybrand.com/product/59...as-with-t-bars
