Yes get a temp controller. They have a bluetooth controller and an app for your phone.
No more controller hanging out.

They also have a controller that you can mount to the bike.

They have a new wireless controller that you can mount just the controls to the bike.

The Gerbing heated gear can get hot enough to burn your skin. I burnt my neck with a jacket when my neck gaiter pulled out of the collar on a ride.

tourmaster gives you a 5 position controller with their jacket liner, thats what I have. First gear and gerbings you buy the controller separately. Got my wife the first gear liner and their dual heat troller with gerbing gloves. Their controller is much nicer and it's not a 5 position switch its much more adjustable.
As for controllers,,, ever tried using a touch screen device with your winter gloves on? Doesn't work real well for me.
The wireless means you need to keep spare batteries handy, the wired controllers work just fine. The case for the FG controller has a leather covered spring steel clip, I've broken the plastic clip on my tour master controller twice now.
