Default Heated gloves ?

Just got some Gerbings and ran the wires yesterday.

Tested them and all is good.

They may be too good. Should I be looking at a temp controller?

I would be good to keep your hands from baking. You can just turn the gloves on and off till you get one.
You're going to to love riding with heated gloves. Cold hands can take the fun out of riding.

I have the Gerbing T5 gloves, a jacket liner and a dual temp controller...best invention ever, for cold weather riding. Temp control to me, is very important as I can adjust the temp to suit whatever temp I'm encountering.

Yes get a temp controller. They have a bluetooth controller and an app for your phone.
No more controller hanging out.

They also have a controller that you can mount to the bike.

They have a new wireless controller that you can mount just the controls to the bike.

The Gerbing heated gear can get hot enough to burn your skin. I burnt my neck with a jacket when my neck gaiter pulled out of the collar on a ride.

I thought that all heated gear came with a temperature control. I know my heated glover liner did. But I've only used them 2 times in the 3 years and with 80° yesterday, I won't use them this year.

Nope.

tourmaster gives you a 5 position controller with their jacket liner, thats what I have. First gear and gerbings you buy the controller separately. Got my wife the first gear liner and their dual heat troller with gerbing gloves. Their controller is much nicer and it's not a 5 position switch its much more adjustable.

As for controllers,,, ever tried using a touch screen device with your winter gloves on? Doesn't work real well for me.

The wireless means you need to keep spare batteries handy, the wired controllers work just fine. The case for the FG controller has a leather covered spring steel clip, I've broken the plastic clip on my tour master controller twice now.

The dual controller is the schnizzles. Jacket liner will tend to get uncomfortably warm at the connection block if wearing just a T shirt, at least mine does. To answer your question, yes, get a controller. Dual so you can add on as you realize how nice it is to ride being warm all over.
