Default Help me decide!! Fxdx or Fxd!

Hi guys. I'm torn between two bikes!

2005 FXDXI 16k miles great cosmetic condition runs great $7200 chopper blue with black motor stage 1

2010 FXD 8k miles great cosmetic condition runs great $7800 black with blonde engine stage 1 with thrashin pipe

I have the opportunity to purchase one of these two great bikes but I have gone back and forth, just cannot make up my mind. Right now I'm leaning toward the FXDXI super glide sport. What do you guys think?? Any input will help. What's the better deal!? Racking my brain over this.

Appreciate the help!

If it was me I'd get the FXDX but that's only if the forks and shocks are still in decent condition if not I'd go with the newer one

I'd keep looking.

05 has the old frame and I hate the looks of the blonde engine on the 10.

05 FXDI is the dream bike (if you don't want carb). Last of the Dynas before the Moco went all #typicalharley and started catering to the millennials (which is ironic because now they all want the old dynas anyway)

So I owned a 2001 FXDX, 2011 FXDC, 2001 FXDX, and a 2010 FXDC. My .02 is that the FXDX feels smaller and more nimble and is a lot more fun around town and has that "cool" factor. Put on a DXT fairing and Bags and you have a great little touring bike. The 2010 FXD has the 96 and 6 speed and they are more powerful and smoother on long highway runs, but it is just another boring dyna. Trust me you will see DXs on the internet and on the road and regret buying a FXD. If you have to choose just one.....I'd go with the DX every day.

Agreed. I've had a "boring" Street Bob and it's just a dime a dozen newer dyna. No character, no soul. You see a DX or DXT shoot past in the other direction and you feel like you're missing out.

And yes, the blonde motor sucks.

Thanks guys! There's just something about the FXDXI.

Price wise does it sound fair? I've seen so many people trying to get upwards of 10k for them. Seems fair for the condition is in but again I've only started pricing about 2weems ago.

here are the pics guys. I haven't heard back from the FXD since yesterday so it could be sold already and I have a verbal agreement to purchase the FXDX tomorrow. Looks like the FXDXI is gonna be my new bike.
