Default Rain Gear waterproofing

Seems my expensive Harley rain gear has lost it's water repellancy. It's 3 yrs old and hasn't been worn too much. The few times I put it on last year I got a little wet. Have any of you used sprays to renew the water repelling?

I have had my Harley rain gear since '05 and no leaks yet!!! The inside of rain hood has peeling plastic (coating) but the rest is good as new. Never treated with anything.

Had mine since 03', good as new. I don't think there is anything you can do to fix it. I have another raincoat that mistakenly went throught the washer/dryer - it looks new but no more water repellency, had to be trashed. Maybe you washed and dryed yours?

Cool

Google "waterproofing spray". There are heaps of products on the market designed to be sprayed onto fabrics to waterproof them. Here in Australia I get hits with local products - the brands you have over there will be different - but do the same thing....
Typically these types of sprays can be found in stores that sell camping / hiking equipment.

If its Gore-tex type material, I use this all the time and it works well.

Where are you getting "a little wet"? Is it the material itself that the water is getting through, or is it the seems that are going bad?

I'm not understanding how a 3 year old HD rainsuit is leaking. Mine is 5 years old, gets used quite a bit and put away wet, and lives in my saddlebags in 100 degree heat all year round. I have washed it several times too. It works like a charm.

Are you zipping it up all the way to the neck? Where is it leaking?
