After my dealer did the latest software update, I noticed that the Title and artist of the song was displayed on the screen. That was pretty cool. But after a day or so, that feature isn't there anymore.

Do all the 6.5 Boom radios have this title and artist feature?

 

Yes. It may have deactivated itself. I believe you will find it in the audio menu and under a 4 or 5 letter name like rd something something.

It's funny, I never had it on my System in the first place, so I didn't know I was missing something. Then it shows up, teases me, and goes away. I must have a FEMALE version of the Radio. LOL!!

 

Is that a 6.5 only feature...or does the 4.3 do it as well?

4.3 does it too, mine does anyhow.

 

The function is called RDS. I have the 6.5 so I don't know where to look on a 4.3 but if you can find RDS make sure it's turned on.

 

RBDS is what it's called. The easiest way to access it is to do this:

1. Radio on, tuned to FM
2. top of screen will have CAT FM and MENU at far top right
3. Cursor over (toggle) to MENU and select it.
4. Selections then will be SCAN, SEEK, & RBDS (3rd option down in the list)
5. Make sure RBDS is checked and all the titles and artists will appear on the screen.

 

Some setting go back to default once in awhile for some reason. Another one that will do the is the option to skip to next song on the usb . If it does that you just have to go back in and allow seek.

 

RBDS cured my problem too.
